GOME Electrical Appliances Holding Limited (国美电器 or 国美在线)(SEHK: 493) is one of the largest privately owned electrical appliance retailers in Mainland China and Hong Kong. It was founded by Wong Kwong Yu in Beijing in as early as 1987. In 1987 GOME's first electrical appliance retail outlet was opened in Beijing. In 2004, GOME was selected as one of the "Key and Strategically Important Enterprises" in China by the Ministry of Commerce. As of 30 June 2014, GOME owned 1,088 stores, with its sales network spanning 264 large and medium-sized cities nationwide and total store retail space of approximately 3,589,000 square meters. GOME's megastore Gome.com.cn offers an extremely wide range of electronics, household products, furniture, apparel and even an online supermarket.
